Design Build Novation: A fresh look at collaborative project delivery
The Design Build model of project delivery has developed over the last thirty years and it has taken all of that time for Owners, Designers, and Contractors to adapt to the “culture of collaboration”.
With a fresh set of eyes, project teams are testing out project delivery alternatives with surprising results. In this panel discussion you will hear from a project team on the campus of University of California Riverside who are completing a Design Build Novation project where the design team was under contract to the Owner through Schematic Design and eventually novated to a Design Build Contractor to complete design and construction.
What might have been considered “arranged marriage” in the past is now a viable and successful way to deliver a project. Specific lessons learned, advantages, and disadvantages will be shared to provide the audience with implementation tools.
