In the rapidly evolving landscape of urban redevelopment, the Houston Land Bank (HLB) stands as a beacon of innovation and equity, boasting the title of the largest land bank in the United States by geographical scope. In this closing plenary we examine HLB's cutting-edge approaches to transforming urban spaces, focusing on the equitable revitalization of brownfields and the rejuvenation of underutilized community areas. Through our presenters experience in urban planning and community development, attendees will gain insights into leveraging land banking to foster sustainable and inclusive urban growth. The session is designed to illuminate HLB's strategic vision, anchored in principles of environmental justice, community empowerment, and equitable outcomes.
