As cities grow and more people move in, vehicle traffic increases as well. Strategic planning is required to keep commute times short and convenient. An effective solution is to place multifamily buildings conveniently to public transportation such as subways, train stations, or bus stops. For cities without a robust public transportation network, placing housing with strategic access to highway entrances and bridges improves commuter efficiency. This session covers the methods and benefits of planning and designing around transit networks to improve residents’ quality of life.
